Resolve Fit, Layering & Pocket Problems

ZESTLET manufactures hunting apparel for brands, importers, outfitters and wholesale buyers. This lightweight hooded hunting softshell jacket brief combines a full front zip, shaped hood, vertical chest pocket and zipped hand pockets. Develop the garment around your layer system, finished measurements, fabric reference and private labels. Solid olive-grey, black, charcoal and blue references sit alongside three camouflage colourways; confirm the actual fabric and colour standard on a physical sample before bulk approval.

Choose the layer position before choosing a size

A jacket that fits over a thin base layer can bind over a thick fleece. Send the intended underlayers and compare arm movement, chest ease and the closed collar with them in place. Increasing every measurement to solve one tight area can create a loose hood or an oversized hem. Record the required ease at each measurement point.

Pocket access changes when equipment is worn

A chest strap or waist belt can cover a pocket that works perfectly on a hanger. Review the pocket opening with the buyer’s representative pack or harness. Check usable bag depth with a gloved hand and the actual item carried. The design should be approved in the wearing condition, including the pocket contents.

Softshell is a construction choice, not a weather rating

A smooth face and fleece reverse do not establish waterproofness, breathability or a temperature limit. Fabric stretch, backing density, seams, zips and airflow affect the finished garment. Agree the required evidence before adding a weather claim to a hangtag or wholesale listing.

Define Your Private Label Hunting Softshell

  • Approve the reference silhouette, panel lines and hood profile in a dimensioned technical drawing.
  • Match solid shades to an agreed physical colour standard and review shade variation across face fabric, zips and thread.
  • Review the three camouflage colour references at actual print scale, including placement across pockets and adjoining panels.
  • Specify chest and hand-pocket dimensions, zipper direction and pull size without relying on a product photograph for measurements.
  • Set label dimensions, artwork, decoration method and placement; keep decoration clear of pocket openings and major seams.
  • Confirm size grading, unit packing and carton assortments before releasing materials for bulk cutting.

Softshell Fabrics, Backing & Trims

The illustrations are colour and construction references. Final composition, fabric weight, finish and any weather performance are confirmed against the actual approved sample and supporting evidence. No proprietary competitor fabric or camouflage licence is represented as included.

Softshell face and fleece reverse

Softshell face and fleece reverse development options
PropertyOption / specification
CompositionBuyer-selected woven face, fleece backing and bonding construction
ApplicationMain body, sleeves and hood
Development considerationsCompare swatches in the intended layer system. Record fibre composition, face weave, backing structure, stretch and recovery, thickness, finish and actual weight. Check the bonded fabric after agreed cleaning. A visually similar fabric may have different drape, noise and insulation; approve the exact reference rather than a generic softshell name.

Pocketing, zips and finishing components

Pocketing, zips and finishing components development options
PropertyOption / specification
CompositionPocket bags, zipper assemblies, thread, adjustment cord and hardware to the agreed component list
ApplicationStorage, front closure, hood adjustment and internal finishing
Development considerationsCheck pocket-bag strength, seam allowances, zipper operation and pull access with gloves. Match component colours against the approved shell. Confirm genuine supplier documentation before advertising a branded zipper or fabric. Substitutions require a recorded review of their effect on fit, handling and finishing.

Approve the material in context

  1. Identify the exact material, trim and artwork reference.
  2. Check its dimensions, handle and compatibility in the finished item.
  3. Retain the approved sample and record any alternative separately.

Hood, Pocket & Garment Sample Checks

Hood and collar together

Check the hood while facing forward and turning the head. Review face-opening clearance, peripheral visibility, chin contact and collar height with the front zip fully closed. Confirm that any adjustment ends are secured and that the chosen system operates in the intended wearing condition.

Shoulder, sleeve and hem balance

Reach forward, raise the arms and bend the elbows while wearing the nominated underlayers. Check hem lift, sleeve retraction, armhole pressure and back width. Evaluate a loaded chest pocket as well as an empty garment; its weight can change the front balance.

Pocket and zipper assembly

Inspect top and bottom zipper stops, pocket entry reinforcement and internal bag anchoring. Close every zip with the garment worn, then check the hem alignment. Record any front-zip waviness after the agreed care process rather than approving appearance only before washing.

Camouflage and solid shade control

Approve fabric panels and assembled samples under the agreed viewing conditions. For prints, check repeat size, direction and continuity at visually important seams. For solids, compare body, sleeve, hood and pocket panels from the same production lot and retain a signed colour standard.

Private Labels & Repeat-Order Control

Private labels and decoration

Supply authorized vector artwork and exact placement dimensions. Review embroidery, printing or a sewn label on the actual softshell; backing and needle penetration can affect the face and fleece. Approve a decorated sample before bulk application.

Care and identity information

Tie the final fibre declaration, care instructions, origin information, size identification and buyer item code to the approved bill of materials. Do not transfer a competitor label’s wording or technical claims onto your own garment.

Keep repeat orders consistent

Retain the final technical pack, graded measurements, artwork revision, swatches and approved sample. Specify which changes require written buyer acceptance, particularly fabric substitutions, zipper suppliers and print scale.

Send your artwork (AI, PDF, PSD, PNG) and we return a digital mock-up before production.

Materials & Production Responsibility

For your hunting jacket program, identify the manufacturing steps, material suppliers and any outsourced processes in the quotation. Confirm the exact softshell construction, print route, trim availability and sampling requirements before accepting a bulk schedule. ZESTLET’s manufacturer positioning does not mean that a competitor’s fabric system, factory arrangement or warranty is supplied with this reference.

Testing, Destination & Product Evidence

State the destination market, intended wearer and sales channel in the development brief. Buyers serving UK stalking, North American hunting or European outdoor retail may require different assortments and documentation. Climate and hunting style guide product selection, while legal and retailer requirements must be checked for the actual destination and garment.

Use accurate fibre, origin and care information and review applicable substance and labelling requirements for the final materials. Supply authorized artwork and any required permissions for the requested pattern. No protective-equipment approval, official procurement status, waterproof rating or universal cold-weather temperature rating is claimed.

Agree evidence for the actual item

Agree a sample review covering finished measurements and tolerances, seam appearance and integrity, pocket access, zipper operation, hood retention, movement and appearance after the nominated care cycle. Where relevant, define abrasion, pilling, colourfastness, seam strength and stretch recovery methods with a suitable testing provider. If water resistance, waterproofness, air permeability or moisture transfer is to be advertised, specify the test method, conditioning and pass criteria for the applicable material or finished assembly. Keep each report linked to the exact construction and revision.

For UK, US, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand or other destination inquiries, state the market, intended use and buyer requirements. Confirm the actual material declaration, labeling, origin, artwork permission and any specialized import or event documentation before approving dispatch. A market name is not a certification or a promise of unrestricted availability.

Review your destination and documentation brief

From Jacket Brief to Approved Production

  1. Send the development brief

Provide the intended activity, layer position, destination, reference views and quantity by colour and size. Mark the silhouette and pocket arrangement you want to retain, and identify every dimension that still needs confirmation.

  2. Approve the technical pack

Resolve measurements, grading, hood construction, pocket bags, zipper specifications, stitch details and label placement. A drawing and bill of materials should describe the garment sufficiently for the sample to be checked consistently.

  3. Review swatches and components

Compare the proposed face and backing, solid shades or print references, zips, pocketing and hardware. Confirm material minimums and the actual sampling scope. Record any approved alternative separately.

  4. Fit and assess the sample

Wear the sample with the agreed underlayers and representative equipment. Review movement, hood visibility, pocket access and closure handling. Return one numbered comment list with measurements and photographs tied to the sample revision.

  5. Release the production reference

Approve the final sample, graded specifications, artwork, inspection criteria and packing plan. Reconfirm cost and schedule if material, construction or assortment changes after the quotation.

  6. Inspect and dispatch

Check finished measurements, workmanship, colours, sizes, labels and quantities against the agreed plan. Confirm shipment documents, delivery terms and carton identification for the actual order.

Jacket Packing & Dispatch

Agree whether the jacket is folded, individually protected or supplied with retail hangtags. Protect zipper pulls from marking the face fabric and avoid prolonged compression that distorts the hood. Identify each size and colour on the unit label, define mixed or single-size cartons and confirm carton dimensions and quantities. Include the buyer’s item code and approved artwork revision in the packing instructions. Delivery terms, freight arrangements and destination charges are confirmed for the actual shipment.

Hunting Softshell Buyer Questions

Is this jacket supplied as a private label product?

The program is intended for B2B development under your authorized brand. Specify labels, decoration, hangtags and packing in the technical pack. Review their placement and application on the actual approved sample.

Is a fleece-backed softshell the same as a waterproof hunting jacket?

No. Fleece backing and a smooth outer face do not establish waterproof performance. A rainwear claim requires the appropriate material, construction and evidence. Confirm the intended layer role before selecting the fabric.

Can the reference colours and camouflage appearance be matched?

Use the supplied views as the development reference and approve physical colour standards and printed fabric at actual scale. Screen images cannot guarantee an exact fabric match. Confirm the artwork and supply route for any requested proprietary pattern.

How do we specify the fit for UK stalking or active mountain hunting?

Start with the activity, underlayers and representative wearer measurements. Check reaching, bending, hood visibility and access around pack straps. Approve the actual fit sample; a market label alone does not define ease or size grading.

Are the images photographs of ZESTLET production?

They are design visualizations for reviewing the proposed garment appearance. Request physical fabric swatches and an actual ZESTLET development sample to evaluate materials, workmanship, fit and colour before ordering.

What are the MOQ and lead time?

Both are quoted for the actual design, colour assortment, material minimums and component availability. Obtain a written sampling and bulk schedule after the technical pack is reviewed; the reference image does not define a stocked item or delivery promise.

Can we order women’s or youth sizes from this pattern?

A separate fit and grading review is needed. Adult size reduction alone does not establish a suitable women’s or youth garment. Define the intended wearer, measurements and relevant trim and destination requirements in a dedicated brief.

What should we send for a wholesale manufacturing quote?

Send the technical drawing or reference views, measurements and size run, layer position, shell and fleece preferences, colour or print standard, authorized artwork, quantity by variant, destination, required tests and packing instructions. Identify unresolved decisions so they can be reviewed before pricing.
